Good News

For the girls…

… I have good news! After years of looking at your Mom’s clothes from the 70s and 80s and asking, “Mom, what were you thinking?” you may find some use for the psychedelic patterns, big flowers, and safari prints.

This morning on the CBS morning show The Early Show there was a segment on fashion trends coming up for this spring. Apparently the major trend will flashback to the retro late 60s, 70s, and 80s. These decades have always inspired the trends, but this time there’s more of a bright twist that breaks away from the typical 80s rocker.

I spent years with my sister playing dress-up in some pretty outrageous hand-me-downs my mom gave us once they “went out of style”. I’ve seen pictures though, and she looked great, so I might consider heading down to the “costume box” to dig out some of those clothes.

Not only will it save you some money, but it’ll be vintage and if your mom loved those clothes she’d love even more the fact that you’ve taken an appreciation to her groovy threads.

This is a short video about more fashion trends for this spring… You may even find some of this stuff in your Mom’s OR Dad’s closet!

  1. who really determines these “fashion trends” and why do women so aimlessly follow them?…

  2. Love it, my mom was such a hippy… can’t wait. Plus I have a bunch of my grandma’s old skool clothes which I plan on revamping for summer!!

  3. and to comment to Banana… they don’t really aimlessly follow them, rather that is pretty much all stores will sell, therefore you almost have no other choice. Especially if you are into buying brand names and what not.. they start the trends and then lower clothing companies follow, so by that time everyone has to buy that trend that is in all stores…
