Canada wins gold!

It’s always exciting to cheer for your country in any sporting event. It’s even better if your country’s representative(s) is in the final. That was the case this past weekend at the Women’s World Curling Championship in Vernon, British Columbia.

Jennifer Jones and the rest of her Canadian team defeated China in the finals to clinch Canada’s second consecutive world championship. China had been Canada’s toughest competition throughout the championship and Jones capitalized on mistakes made by China in the first few ends of the final game.

It’s great that this Canadian team was able to win in their home country as well. The men’s team led by Kevin Martin is looking to follow the success of the women next week just sound of the border in Grand Forks, ND.
